Dr. Kim Jaxon's English 534 proposed an assignment that challenged students to design a unit plan.

 

In response to this challenge, I designed a six week module that emphasized "Reflective & Expressive Writing" (Gallagher). This unit plan anchored its work in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, and the work being done in the classroom was inspired by Kelly Gallagher's Write Like This. This unit plan aims to develop a student's reflective and writing skills while upholding the principles of the Common Core State Standards.
